Attendance at the Annual Gardening Show has grown on average 30% per year. It's a
destination event and people spend the entire day with us trading seeds and bulbs, attending
seminars and demonstrations, and purchasing items to enhance their gardening experience.
In 2010, 2,000 people joined us for the day; in 2012, 1,300 hardy souls braved snowy roads
to attend the Show, so in 2013 we're expecting good weather and at least 2,000 avid
gardeners to come for the day. To accommodate them all, we added a third building at the
Expo Center which we call The Garden Shed.
The Show is a regional event that attracts folks from a 200-mile radius of Valparaiso.
That means folks come from as far south as Indianapolis, as far east as Toledo, as far
west as the western burbs of Chicago and as far north as Saginaw, MI. Our core
audience are Indiana, Michigan and Illinois Master Gardeners, garden clubs and
other avid gardeners. Since the Show is in January when seed catalogues are piling
up in their mail boxes, these folks are willing to brave the winter weather to spend a
day with us hoping and planning for spring.
If you have a garden product or service that would appeal to our audience, please
contact us at pcmastergardener@gmail.com or (219) 465-3555 and include a photo(s)
of your product.
